Nondescript Filipino indie horror
DARKEST NIGHT is a nondescript Filipino horror movie made on a tiny indie budget. I was disappointed to find out that the main cast members are American, playing an American family vacationing in the mountains. An ethnic cast would have been much more interesting and added local flavour. It’s a typical haunted house effort, rather aimless in scope, and as dark and gloomy as you’d expect. Very little happens of note and the whole production has a feeling of predictability about it that makes it a bit of a chore to sit through.
