Corey and Katie live with their Dad RT and Corey’s friend Roger. Corey is a creative soul who is trying to make it in the music world in a decade that only appreciates financial success. Although his father, RT, is a successful professional who is about to strike gold with his Gut Whacker and ride the ’80s fitness marketing craze wave, Corey finds it difficult to get in the game. On the other hand, Corey’s friend Roger idolizes Ronald Reagan and listens to motivation tapes while trying to find his way into corporate America. The household is rounded out by Corey’s younger sister Katie, a chip off the old block whose sweetness and naiveté make her the perfect go between for her father and brother. At Club Piranha, a local gathering place, Sophia is in control. Sophia, Corey’s ex, is a beautiful, “grab all that I can” kind of girl who doesn’t like to limit her choices. Sophia breaks up with Corey to explore other avenues and relationships… all types of relationships. Corey’s one safe haven is Permanent Record, the music store where he works for Margaret, a woman who lived through the summer of love and emerged with quite a few stories (and a rash). But things change for Corey when he’s forced to deal with the new girl, Tuesday, a punk rocker who sports a mohawk and attitude to match..
Plot: That ’80s Show is an American sitcom that aired from January through May 2002. Despite having a similar name, show structure, and many of the same writers and production staff, it is not considered a direct spin-off of the more successful That ’70s Show. The characters and storylines from both shows never crossed paths. It was a separate decade-based show created because of That ’70s Show’s popularity at the time.

The show was set in 1984 and revolved around the lives of a group of friends living in San Diego, California. It debuted January 23, 2002, and the final episode aired May 29, 2002. Its regular time slot was on Wednesday nights at 8:00/7:00 Central on the Fox Network, although a few shows were aired on different nights. Its main time slot competitors were ABC’s My Wife and Kids, CBS’s 60 Minutes II, and NBC’s Ed. All 13 episodes, which were filmed at CBS Studio Center, aired at least once.

Too bad
It really wasn’t all that different from “That 70s Show”. Just about every joke was thrown in, some funny, some not. I admit I only tuned in to see the adorable Tinsley Grimes. I think this show could’ve become something better than it was if it had been given more of a chance, and also if the writers had taken it more slowly with things like the love/hate relationship between Corey (Howerton) and Tuesday (Leigh). I think another problem with the show was the lead character of Corey himself: the writers weren’t sure what to do with him. Was he supposed to be a nice guy, was he supposed to be a jerk, they hadn’t figured him out. But that’s why you have to give a show like this time, so you can flesh out your characters and figure out who they really are.
