Simply Amazing!
After finishing all 7 seasons, I cannot help but provide my first ever review on IMDB. This series just blows me away. Every single character is well written, you won’t skip any single story. The police department culture is also well portrayed and the attention to details of the set is what sets it apart from other series (Our day begins when your day ends, get off your ass and knock on doors). The realism of the detectives day to day work ain’t just about bullets and actions. Plots are great with several stories intertwining with each other and every season is just exciting to watch.

To be honest, I almost skipped after 2 episodes as I did not exactly like the main character Bosch. Thankfully I persisted. The old school character and borderline insubordination is a contradiction to a disciplinary force like the LAPD, that was why I did not relate to the character at first. However, as the episodes runs, the character grows on me. Everybody counts or nobody counts.

The entire ambience of the series is well drafted with an excellent Jazz soundtrack giving a real mellow feel throughout the series. No over the top action but just real down to earth police work.

Gotta Love The Hollywood Precinct!!!!
I really love this show and am so glad Titus Welliver found a signature role for himself. He seems perfect to me for the role of Harry Bosch and the show itself is pretty damn good for a Cop show.

Great performances from the supporting cast as well really make this a fantastic show. As well as it being set in my home town of LA , where it’s great to be able to see a lot of local landmarks as well as a spectacular recurring view of LA from Bosch’s house.

Some seasons are better than others of course and now that we have a lot of seasons we can grade them all individually.

Season 5

8/10 Stars Was a little disappointed by the ‘Walsh’ character coming back in a desperate attempt for revenge. Seems a bit stolen from the ‘Heat’ movie where DeNiro just couldn’t leave it alone, giving up his 100%chance to escape for some unnecessary vengeance on a character that would have absolutely no bearing at all on future ‘business’. Of course I guess it does make for good closing action sequences. And in this case , additional added value to the DOG character.

Season 6

5/10 Stars This season was probably the worst one yet. No Crate and Barrel at all in the first 3 episodes. The Sovereigns plot line seemed a bit lame, especially at the end of the season and what happened there. And a very disappointing J. Edgar character arc with how he ends up this season. I wasn’t impressed by this season. And really it had no impressive villains at all in it.

Season 7

6/10 Stars.. This final 8 episode season was disappointing as well. The conflict between Harry and J. Edgar was at least resolved in the end. It’s just sad that the show is ending. I will miss it a lot.
