The Risk not Taken opens your eyes to the struggle of deciding whether to take a risk that might literally blow up in your face. In this metaphorical journey you follow a fantastic creature that touches your heart without needing a single word. It is the strength of the expressionistic pictures, where every frame for itself would be worse hanging on the wall, that asks the viewer: “Is it worth it?” This movie uses powerful images and desperate situations to warn of the consequences of large risks. The movie is full of details and hidden messages that hint to a strong philosophical basis of the story. Even after watching it more than 15 times I still find little nuances, like the usage of colors, the specific note struck at a certain time or the connection between different scenes that makes room for various interpretations of the movie. Hard to believe that this blooming, detailed and moving short-film was produced entirely by one person! Can’t wait to watch more from this incredibly talented director!
