Plot: Djibi lives alone with Sofia, his 8-year-old daughter. Every night, he invents a story to put him to sleep. When Sofia falls asleep, these extraordinary stories come to life somewhere in an imaginary world inhabited by knights, pirates and other dragons. In this world that belongs only to them, Sofia is always the princess to save, and the brave Prince is none other than Djibi himself. But 3 years later, the entry of Sofia to the college will mark the end of her childhood. To the despair of her father, she no longer needs her stories at night. On the one hand, Djibi will have to accept that his daughter will grow up and move away from him. On the other hand, in the World of Stories, the Prince will have to face the most epic of all his adventures. Find your destiny in a world where it no longer has a place.

Entertaining but with rare moments
In this film the plot is well constructed, although the ending is unsatisfactory.

The theme of growing up, maturing and how parents perceive it in their children is exposed. There are very good things like some special effects, how the story tells and how the brain perceives the phenomenon of growing up. Although there are times when it looks a bit like Inside Out and Toy Story, the ending feels empty and the closing is unsatisfactory.

It is a movie with a good message about growing up and with a good story to tell, but the ending ruins what was previously built.

Don’t you forget about me
This is a mixture of fairy tale and a story about parenting in general. There are so many little things woven into this and it still does not feel overloaded. It actually is a nice little movie that could – Omar Sy as charismatic as ever and a great father in one world and a Prince in the other. Though both roles seem to be dangerous close to extincion … as his daughter grows up, her interests shift. And so do her views on who her Prince is … sweet but also quite eloquent and really well told.

You may have to really concentrate and stick with what is being told, not confusing the worlds. But the movie really is able to make it clear where you are at all times. It also has some stabs at what we are willing to do, to keep the status quo (like using other people), not being forgotten or rather trying everything we can to stay relevant … as I already stated, there is so much and depending on where you are in your life, this will touch you more or less I reckon.
