Nick is annoying
The road is a tough place for womanizing musician Nick Hannon (Brent David Fraser). His father Ted (J. T. Walsh) gives him a corporate job which he reluctantly takes. His stepmom Kelly (Pamela Gidley) gains the attention of creepy Bobby Lomax (Dwight Yoakam) and she enjoys the attention. After Ted’s death, Nick inherits half of the business but he has to work there for two years. If he fails, his uncle Paul (D. W. Moffett) inherits his share.

Well, Nick is annoying. Ultimately, I don’t care about anything happening to him. Gidley does a fine femme fatale but her finale is bad. The reveals should be more shocking but nothing in this is that compelling. This would work better if Nick has a more charismatic actor.

Some intrigue but ultimately lacklustre
A unoriginal crime-thriller. Plot is fairly generic and instantly recognisable. There is some intrigue and mystery re the crime side but that’s about the extent of the positives.
