Thoroughly enjoyable
I went into this hoping to be entertained and I was. I enjoy indie films and some are quite challenging to get through. But that wasn’t the case with, The Atoning. I liked the story and I really enjoyed the lead female actress. I thought she did a terrific job! I’d recommend this film to anyone. Do what I did, get yourself a large bowl of popcorn and sit back and have a good time.

Like watching a 6th grade orchestra
It just dragged on and on and on. You know it’s going to be really bad, but you sit through it anyway hoping to go deaf. This movie had loads of potential, but needed more talent and direction. It is obvious that this was written by someone very young, who needs to obtain more experience with creating better dialogue. The people in black paint doing the modern dance performances was just sad as was the lady conducting the séance. Better than some of the horror movies out there, but needed something more to be considered “good”. I wish it would have given some background on the other family living in the house.
