The Movie That Started The Movement
There would have been no popularity of the Squirrel Nut Zippers, Cherry Poppin’ Daddys, Brian Setzer Orchestra or any of the other retro-Swing bands of the 1990s if it hadn’t been for this seminal film beautifully acted and shot, bravo to the director. People quit dancing in the early 1960s, and by the early 70s had forgotten how. Sad but true. But there was a short revival in the 90s of the music and dance of the 30s and 40s, and we can thank Swing Kids for that.
