_Revolt_ is **far** from the perfect movie, but every fault it has is an excusable one. It’s about as good as a movie can be without fully crossing over that line into the area of “I’d actually recommend it”.

Little movie … but it had heart!!!
Ok it’s low budget, but it has a solid, simple story and you care about the characters. The lead actor is really good and holds it together. Not a “blockbuster” but good for a rainy day. One of the better small movies on Netflix!!!

To Live is to Fight…
“…and to fight is to live”, that’s the military code “the resistance” lives by in their war against alien mech invaders. I’m hard to please but this was a good movie. The mechs were some cool tech and how their DEWs just vaporize people, wow. And the film’s overall grittiness lends authenticity to it. Joe Miale writes and directs his first feature lengther and does really well with it. Berenice Marlohe (“Nadia”) is a pleasant addition but just when “Bo” (“Halt & Catch Fire”‘s Lee Pace) tries to hit it, the aliens interfere, d’oh! The ending just concludes a single skirmish, not a battle, and not the war but makes you wonder how good a tv series this could be. The cost of VFX usually keeps this off tv but with vast efficiencies in computing now coupled with streamers doing 6-10 ep seasons, there’s really no reason why a VFX series shouldn’t regularly be on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc at this point.
