Watch: Reverse Runner 2013 123movies, Full Movie Online – Named after the alternative athletic ‘skill’ where contestants run backwards into cult-hero ‘glory’, this big-hearted, small-town comedy centres on ‘Kid’ Campbell (Dan Cannon) and his dream to emulate his hero, reverse-running legend John Jones (Steve Moneghetti). Under the guidance of the passionate but luckless Coach Leroy (Rosco Brauer), Kid endeavours to overcome his arch-rival Stephen ‘SJ’ James (Julian Shaw), a bitter father (Daryl Cannon) who was robbed of his own sporting dream to become a champion kite-flyer, and the memory of a final race-day embarrassment which saw him disqualified for turning his shoulders 25 percent (making his reverse run into a sideways one)..
Plot: A teenager pursues his childhood dream of becoming the best at reverse running.

Low budget and a bit amateurish but… also quite funny.
I don’t really know why the ratings for this movie is so low (at the moment of typing this) as a I thought it was fairly amusing and did make me laugh a bunch of times.Perhaps it was the whole ‘presented by the director of Mighty Ducks’ label on the poster that made people expect more of a spectacle than it was.
The director of said movie is merely an executive producer of this movie, which 9 times out of 10 in movies mean that all they do is help finance it (for a percentage of the future income gross) and most times they don’t actually have any involvement with the making of the movie, whether or not that was the case with this movie I don’t know but I imagine so.
No the directors of this movie are rookies (more or less) and so is most of the cast, with most of them including the directors only been involved with a couple of shorts before this full length movie.
And although it does show, for the more part it doesn’t really matter as the movie manages to entertain, which is after all the goal of any movie particularly a comedy so it’s not too hard to overlook the flaws.
An Australian movie inspired by American sports comedies like Hot Rod (2007) and Dodgeball (2004) with similar type of jokes and gags.
So yeah if you find the idea of people competing by running backwards (who doesn’t?) and you can overlook some flaws then you could do a lot worse than watching this.
