This is a story of one man who comes back to his family after coming out. He was thrown out of the house by his Dad who is now dead. He hopes for a better connection now. There is a mother, a brother and a ranch hand. One can almost write the story oneself. But sometimes the old and tried stories have a new connection when brought up to date. A number of familiar gay tropes appear. But it is never time to drop these and move on. The hurt in a lot of family’s lives is too fresh. In this case the familiar becomes comforting and supportive of everyone caught up in old ideas and outdated prejudices.
