Watch: Prince of Muck 2021 123movies, Full Movie Online – The hilly island of Muck, just off the west coast of Scotland, has been owned by the McEwen family for more than a century. After decades of devoting himself to caring for the island, Lawrence McEwen has now passed it on to his son. Lawrence still takes a cold bath every day, and writes in his diary-though the pages are not as full as they once were. Days in the life of this formal but cheerful man unfold to the rhythm of the island in Dutch filmmaker Cindy Jansen’s calm, observational shots. Lawrence hugs the cows, drives cattle with his grandchildren, and reads out extracts from his diaries that span decades, applying the same methodical approach to his notations of wind directions and deaths. The younger generation is taking its own path, and Lawrence must accept that he is reaching the end of his own. In the growing awareness that the future belongs to others, he casts his gaze back in time, reciting the poetry and tide tables that he learned by heart as a child..
Plot: Set on the tiny inhabited island of Muck, off Scotland’s west coast, Cindy Jansen’s cinematic and haunting documentary explores how difficult it is to change the habits of a lifetime.

A beautiful cinematic masterpiece
This was such a moving film detailing the ups and downs of life in a small island community. The resilience and spirit of the local people is portrayed so powerfully. This is such a personal and beautifully shot piece. The long shots of the stunning Scottish landscapes mixed with the intricacies of rural life are mesmerising. For those who love wild Scotland it’s a must see and even for those who are unfamiliar it’s a great story of family relationships and life. I’ve watched it many times since it’s release and I can’t recommend it enough. It is a touching tribute to a man that loved his island.
A remote Scottish island
I liked it a lot and watched it twice. I enjoyed the film making skills and cinematography, the location and beautiful scenery. Also the quiet determination of the family with the occasional bleakness of the landscape.
