Excellent Drama
Father Pedro Poveda was a priest in Spain from 1903 to 1936 and battled to found schools for women as students who became teachers at colleges. The secular portion of society took up arms against the Catholic Church. The story is told through flashbacks during Poveda’s interrogation by his enemies. He first started schools for the poor living in caves and provided them with food and clothes. The cast is superb and Lovers is a wonderful film.
