An aspiring short story writer whose submissions are routinely rejected, Nancy finds an outlet for her creativity and need for affection by running a blog in which she claims to be the grieving mother of a dead child. After her mother passes away, Nancy sees a news report about an elderly couple who have never given up the search for their daughter, who was kidnapped as a child thirty years prior. Noting a vague resemblance between herself and an age progression of the couple’s daughter, Nancy contacts them, claiming to have uncovered evidence that she was kidnapped and that she is, in fact, their child. As Nancy works her way into the couple’s lives, she finds herself falling deeper into her own lies, with consequences for everyone she meets..
Plot: Nancy becomes increasingly convinced she was kidnapped as a child. When she meets a couple whose daughter went missing thirty years ago, reasonable doubts give way to willful belief.

This could have gone down a darker, criminal route but wisely doesn’t. It stays downbeat, and oddly touching.

Fascinating Underrated Mystery
I was completely drawn in to this underrated little gem immediately. The acting is brilliant from everyone and the script is tight and purposeful. I found myself hanging on every word. The story is very intriguing and odd but the characters are so fascinating especially the lead character, Nancy. I can’t give anything away but if you like a good mystery with a terrific cast, give this one a try. It’s not an action adventure, more a character study, thriller but worth the viewing.
