Good entertainment
I hadn’t seen the first My Spy movie, wasn’t sure what to expect – and was pleasantly surprised – a wholesome family entertainment movie, a few laughs, well acted.

Dave Bautista, Chloe Coleman and all supportng actors are great.

Plot is silly, it doesn’t matter for a film like this – fun action, nice locations, soppy bits, fun bits, action bits.

It really isn’t the sort of film to dissect and quibble – what is the point ?

It’s better made than 70% of new movies, it entertains and is the perfect movie to sit back with popcorn or pizza and forget about your troubles for a bit.

After watching this I sought out the first film and that was a fun romp too.

Just watch the first one again
The first movie ends with the characters having respect for each other and yet this one starts with Sophie being the overdone teen. Why do so many sequels have to reset any character development that happened in the prior movie? And why are so many characters in movies now one dimensional?

The first movie had charm, humor and likable characters. This one seems to be missing those. A lot of the performances feel like they are cold reading the lines rather than shooting the actual movie.

I’m curious how many of the positive reviews are from people that spent much of the movie looking at their phone. It may not be a bad ‘background’ movie.

Not as good as the first one.
This would have been so much better without Anna Faris she is not a villain, not to mention you pretty much know the second you meet her.

I mean I get it this is the kids movie and I did watch the first one right before watching this one but that one was good it wasn’t inappropriate or outlandish it was good and comical and heartfelt and this one just feels like they’re trying to hard to make it a raunchy kids comedy it was weird.

Dave Batista does do a good job and I do think they made the daughter a little too bratty

I don’t have much else to say I just have to keep talking because it needs so many characters.
