Sometimes stories are just made up
A virus wipes out almost all the humans with the cursed XX chromosome. A decade later a man is attempting to protect his daughter from the remnants of civilization by disguising her as a boy. The trains were still running on time, I am not sure why we lost the power grid. Society could function semi-normally with half of it missing. But not in this film.

The film is more about a father protecting his daughter against all kinds of men and evil, clearly, a reflection of the modern father’s overprotectiveness. The only difference is we don’t have the daughter doing everything she can to lose her innocence, because she is only 11. The film was well-acted, but boring. I thought the girl was going to kill Casey Affleck in his sleep for his bad storytelling. I know I would have.

Not as exciting as “The Road” which was a half step above watching paint dry.
