Plot: Elizar Perla is a recently retired cat burglar who has succumbed to the temptation of one final score. The target is David Gray, famous for his collection of art and other rarities. Soon after the job, Elizar disappears, leaving his daughter Marty (Gina Gershon) distraught. Desperate, Gray approaches Marty suggesting that her father will turn up as soon as the stolen artwork is recovered. She begrudgingly accepts the offer to help him locate the art, but all is not as it seems, as the rarest of stolen pieces has value beyond ordinary currency. Written by Peace Arch

An entertaining whodunnit
Several minutes into the movie, it was clear the less than stellar acting would persist throughout the movie. Yet that may have been the director’s purpose, as other elements of the movie, from the music, to the settings and cinematography, are done in earlier styles, as well, reminiscent of similar flicks done in the 1930s. The plot is indeed interesting, with the usual set of twists which will keep you interested, particularly when you learn there’s something deeper going on… From the usual assortment of seedy characters, to clues cleverly sprinkled throughout the various scenes, this movie is is a sleeper that will wake you up with interest. At one point, the director engages in a very interesting parallel set of scenes that literally had me grinning at their enjoyable novelty. In all, a good flick.

Surprisingly smart
I didn’t expected much from this movie after i saw the score here on IMDb, but i decided to watch because of the other comment that said it was a good movie. Not that i believed it (i thought it was someone form the cast or something) but i gave it a try anyway. This is one of those movies that is smart in every way you look at it. With a handful of actors, a handful of locations and a handful of $, they made this interesting movie, which keeps you in ‘the dark’ till the very end. This is a good movie, but if you take into account the resources they had, it’s an excellent movie… Don’t be fooled by the budget though. If i were to rate the aspects of this movies, i would say something like: Filming 8/10, Sound effects 7/10, Audio Quality 5/10, Plot 8/10.
