Synopsis

Watch: How to Build a Time Machine 2016 123movies, Full Movie Online – How to Build a Time Machine follows two men as they set out on a journey to build their own time machines. Rob Niosi is a stop motion animator who has spent the last 13 years obsessively constructing a full-scale replica of the time machine prop from the 1960 adaptation of H.G. Wells’ “The Time Machine.” It’s his attempt to recapture the memory of seeing the film in theaters with his father. Dr.Ron Mallett is a theoretical physicist whose story begins with a tragedy. He was only 10 years old when his father died suddenly of a heart attack. Distraught, he sought solace in science-fiction. After reading “The Time Machine,” Ron dedicated his life to studying physics. He has since become a professor at the University of Connecticut and is now working on building a real time machine in the hopes that he might go back in time to save his father’s life..
Plot: Focuses on two subjects in particular: Rob Niosi, who has spent many years building a full-scale replica of the prop from the 1960 film The Time Machine, and physicist Ronald L. Mallett, who has dedicated his life to researching the scientific possibility of time travel.

Reviews:

The DIY project and grieving physicist
A filmmaker’s DIY project vs a grieving physicist trying to literally travel through time to see his dead father. Which do you think would be most interesting? I don’t know if it was all this talk about ‘time’ but it felt that time certainly dragged when Rob Niosi was working on his full-scale replica time machine from the 1960 film. It’s just that the vast majority of the film seemed to focus on this less interesting of the two.

Don’t get me wrong, Rob Niosi’s passion for his project was inspiring. The sheer effort and finances invested was jaw-dropping. But if I wanted to watch 80 minutes of DIY, I’d turn on the Lifestyle channel. The balance was out of whack.

I enjoyed all the philosophical and deep-thinking aspects of time travel in the film – even if some of the science involved was well over my head. It has made me really want to read Ronald Mallett’s book, “Time Traveler: A Scientist’s Personal Mission to Make Time Travel a Reality”.

It’s still a well-made and thought-provoking documentary – perfect for fans of ‘Back to the Future’, ‘The Time Machine’ or ‘Safety Not Guaranteed’.
