“mediocre film” Don’t listen to this other review
Ok, so first off it is to say that this movie is a reenactment of the arc from episode 58-61 from season 1 of Gintama with better Animation but keeping all of the key elements that make gintama so this is a good substitute for this arc. Also, the context partly has to be understood by viewers, or in other words the viewers should at least know who the characters in the film are. This movie is very good, I’ve just rewatched it and it’s pretty epic. If you’ve been watching Gintama up until this point then you may think Gintama is only comedy and your propably thinking when the plot will finally begin since your already 57 episodes into the series. Well this is the turning point for gintama, this is where plot and epicness begins. If the other reviewer would have been paying more attention they would have noticed how this movie/ arc is very important for the entire story of gintama (I’m not going to spoil anything), but since they didn’t mention that at all I’m assuming the reviewer who gave this 5* wasn’t paying attention while watching the 57 episodes before this arc. And if you have no knowledge of the story then you have no right to critique it . To conclude: Watch this movie, but only if you know the context and are at this exact spot in the series. It’ll definitely be a worth while experience. Especially the end…
