Dissatisfied with the police department’s investigation, the former sheriff tries to uncover the truth about his wife’s death and discovers disturbing evidence that will destroy one family’s future, or tear another’s apart.

Not to be missed for “classic movie ” lovers
This a truly great film. It shows what people are capable of. For the good and for the bad. I not understand that this film is not quoted higher on IMDb. The story is simple, but acting is top not, every character is believable. It also works on different layers. It is a crime story, a tensed thriller, and even although the hard images, also surprisingly a “feel good movie”. And it has a message, how bad people can be, there is always hope, when there are also people, who do the “right thing”. When all you see in the movies today, is digital effects, really nonsense, action that goes so fast that you not even can follow what is happening, this is what cinema is all about, good story, that keeps you on the edge of your seat, about what is going to be happening next.

Excellent modern western just let down a bit by the rushed ending
Two Mexicans trying to cross the border are implicated in a murder they didn’t commit. The film follows the fallout as the dead woman’s husband pieces together the mystery of who was responsible for her murder.

This is an excellently played and filmed modern day western drama which thankfully steers clear of many of the obvious clichés and is never predictable. The intelligent script sparkles and is helped by a superb cast led by Ed Harris, Michael Pena and Eva Longeria all of whom put in superb performances.

The ending for me was a little rushed and disappointing and therefore it just falls short of a great movie in my opinion. This is just a personal opinion though and for others it may work out fine.

Frontera is a good addition to the modern western genre and well worth watching.
