PG-Rated Erotica. That’s always enjoyable. Yeah… no.
“A perspective of our time,” one reviewer writes below. Yes… meaning, the story is, of-course, childish and the filming of it reflects this to a significant degree. it’s very boring. I mean, this called ‘Fluidity’. It is storytelling about ‘generation sex’… and it’s “for adults” yet… of-course it’s been heavily sanitized throughout, maybe except for the (again, of-course) lesbian sex scene.

Overall, one might get the impression an awkward 13 year old tried filming something sexy for adults. lol. That’s the impression this thing gave me.

The Modern Lonely Crowd
Fluidity is a fast-paced, well crafted look into the hollow heart of modern times. Shaped and defined by the impact of social media, it’s a world where connecting replaces deep knowing and amassing hits and likes substitutes for intimacy.

The story is told through the brief intersection of the lives of 10 millennials caught up in the game of “swipe – F… – and swipe again” as one character puts it. What’s gained, another says, is excitement. What’s lost is significance and human cohesion – and we see the brief, intermingled encounters among these people disintegrate as reality is revealed.

Nico Tortorella is wonderful as Matt, a high-fashion photographer who struggles with knowing that he – and all of it – are frauds. And Isabella Farrell is understatedly brilliant as Lily, whose grad school research holds the plot together and delivers the message.

It’s very much worth the time to watch… and then ponder.
