Definitely worth watching
I like most anything S. Lang shows up in. Ronnie Blevins plays it straight up too. Bruce Dern is Bruce Dern, and I think his brilliance is more at tormented oddballs (Tattoo), then crime bosses, so we have a slightly flatted note there, but………………It’s a good story, kept my interest all the way. I’m not hitting my word minimum here so………. This is a very straightforward old-school sort of crime drama. The protagonist is a tough ex-con who’s soft boiled when it comes to his sick mom, and has to raise a lot of cash fast. This sort of story doesn’t leave a lot of room for nuanced characters but Blevins manages to inject some interesting layering. Stephen Lang is always interesting, and basically, even the stock players are all on target. Check it out.
