Nothing, spread thin
Sleight of hand experts will enjoy seeing the references from Expert at the Card Table. If you are familiar with Erdnase, have a look at the list of executive producers and you’ll get a chuckle. Very slow paced with tedious dialog. 10 minutes of two men talking about “Joe” reminds one of the opening scene in Die Walkure where it takes the guy 10 minutes to ask for a glass of water.

Talky Scots drama
CON MEN is a talky Scottish drama masquerading as a crime thriller. The story is about a couple of small-time con artists who go after a big target and end up paying the price for their ambition. It’s a film with high aspirations despite the low budget, featuring plenty of scene changes and a realistic script for a change, reminiscent of the style of Danny Boyle at times. There are even a few scenes of menace. However, the film is quite slow and talky throughout, lacking the pace and momentum it needs to see it through.
