More than okay Estonian film
The essence/background, form of depiction and jokes are definitely not for everyone, but the course of events, characters-performances (many Estonian versatile character actors among supporting cast as well) and logical round-up do not lead to blah! feelings so common with Estonian films. The main trio is alive and kicking again, with Ago Anderson as Andres in the leading role this time, and beautiful local nature of the Saaremaa Island would mitigate the otherwise tragic event in the center of the plot… Well, I can understand that, for many people, death and funeral are inappropriate to link to some fun/joy/happiness, but, on the other hand, it is a part of everyday life and life goes on around and beyond. The film includes some “rude” stuff, but it is not shown in full, thus the platitude is rather in viewers´minds than on screen… That is why I give my 7 points in good conscience, opining that one should not focus on a single “banal” element in here.
