This film is about the Matheson family and the trials they g through after the death of a daughter. Little Abigail Rose Cornell finds a loaded gun belonging to her uncle and kills herself.

This is a minister’s family father is Michael Joiner, mother Ashley Payne, and the two surviving sons Rusty Martin and Patrick Fagan. All try to cope in different and not good ways. The uncle David Temple keeps the weapon as some kind of security from demons in the Mid-East wars. He’s been the prodigal brother for years and now they ant t just read him out of the family.

This modern retelling of the Prodigal Son parable is a good religious drama showing that even preachers and their families fall to earthly temptations.
