Bright Green Lies are being replaced with ecocentric half truths
For anyone that is not aware of what it takes to produce solar panels and wind turbines this movie is definitely going to be an eye opener. A lot of people will have a hard time listening to the ecocentric argument made here, the first 10 minutes are probably the hardest. But this is to be expected since “radical environmentalists” are among the least understood of all contemporary opposition movements. But as Dr. Seuss wrote: “I speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues…”

The problem once again is that the environmentalists being interviewed do not pose any workable solutions. All of them are anti-establishment some even revolutionists, these convictions make people hard to take serious. There is also a lot of one-sided portrayal of the facts and framing is the modus operandi. A good documentary should provide the viewer with complete and unbiased information, this documentary does not do so.

The truth hurts
I think this documentary gets a lot of hate for the realism it offers. Sure, she could have given some half-wit solutions but the message was clear: Our “green options” are not enough to battle climate change and some of them are not as friendly as we think. No one wants to talk about it, let alone admit that we don’t have enough solutions at this point to make a real difference. Unless some drastic changes and sacrifices are made, we could end up sacrificing a lot more than we bargained for. Ignorance is not bliss and this knowledge needs to be shared. This young woman has put together a genuine attempt to educate people, will you learn something?
