Plot: Haunted by his relationship with a fellow inmate, Steve struggles to reconnect with his girlfriend and the world around him. In an attempt to re-integrate with society Steve takes a Meals On Wheels job, only to befriend a seasoned clown who cares for his elderly mother that lives in an extravagant world of make-belief.

A tremendously thought provoking and engaging film, from start to end. Fluent story line, beautiful cinematography, wonderful soundtrack and a spectacular cast. We bought a copy at the premiere, to ensure we had our own little piece of Australian movie history – and have watched it twice more since.

The themes that course through this film are edgy and at times disturbing and uncomfortable. At other times, they are ‘burst at the seams’ delightful, mesmerising and with great sentiment.

Maria Venuti, Henry Szeps and Shaun Goss play their remarkable characters with absolute grace and commitment. They embody the trials, history, pain and joy of their characters without faltering. Truly staggering performances by all.

A must watch for anyone who enjoys cinema with heart.
