Great British Humour
Perfectly awkward British humour with great acting.

Not the best
I really wanted to like this film. I did. It had my celebrity crush, George Mackay, in it and I have been trying to watch all of his movies. I was excited to see him in a romantic comedy, but overall it fell flat to me. I actually fast forwarded through most of it because I wanted to know the end, but couldn’t bear watching it in real time. I think the main reason why it didn’t work was because they were both so awkward. Usually this isn’t a problem for me as it makes the characters feel realer and more relatable, but it was just too much here. They were both trying really hard, which I get is the point of the movie, but it was cringy at times. I also think if the format of the narrative involved seeing them meet more in the beginning rather than have flashbacks throughout from their first date, I could have connected with them more.
