Low Budget, High Minded
A good piece of sci-fi with a neat concept and some good twists. A neat main character who behaves about as unheroic as a hero can. Some technical issues with blood, but on the whole, a cool movie. I liked the actors especially. These low budget wonders usually cast the director or their girlfriends, but these guys are the real thing and knock it out of the park. The main character, Jacob, is especially good as he breaks down over the course of the movie, getting meaner, crueler, but still trying to hold on to his idealism. The leading lady is cute, but you have to wait until after the middle of the movie to really get her character. No nudity, sadly. If you’re in the mood for a little anti-Hollywood nastiness, its all in here. Dead kids, head beatings, and a pretty original piece of knife play. Have fun!

State of the emergency
The film starts out in a futuristic society that is walled in from the outside world which has poisoned land and people traveling in gangs becoming cannibals to survive. A train derailment places our civilized protagonist (Zorba Dravillas) outside of the city in a fight for his life… all inside one shack.

What you realize is that the film spent its entire budget in the first 15 minutes and winged it from there in rural Ontario with a bunch of “Deliverance” rejects. Acting and script was bad. Worth a hacker’s bunch. What was the whole point? There are no zombies as depicted on the DVD cover art.
