Branch was white-a Klansman-and Spann was black. Branch claimed self-defense, but despite that claim and the political climate in Dothan, Alabama in 1946, Branch was charged with first-degree murder. Boring, Incohesive Self-Indulgent Mess
The Writer/Director single handedly ruined this film.

He narrates as though everyone should pay close attention to every syllable he utters. Drone on and on to the point where you just can’t listen or care anymore.

This is terrible film making. Enough said.
