I don’t know Big Jay Oakerson, never heard of him before so this is a first for me. I see the reviews are divided between love and hate. The truth is somewhere in the middle. His humor is mostly vulgar, but that’s fine as long as it’s funny (what it was to me). The reviews with the lowest score possible are from prudes, people that are stuck somewhere in the Middle Ages, bible thumpers that are easily offended. I’m just wondering why they watch such a show in the first place? To me Big Jay Oakerson’s show has positive and negative things. The possitive would be the good jokes (dirty yes, but does that matter when it’s funny?), good interaction with the audience (some improv with the audience but I’m pretty sure it’s rehearsed improv as you will always find a couple that is already married, is going to marry etc… so not really complete improvisation), overall a good stage presence. The negative would be his little laugh, giggling or puffing or whatever it is he does between jokes (it’s his way of laughing so he can’t really help it but I find it slightly annoying). I did enjoy his show and will look for more.
