Watch: Querelle 1982 123movies, Full Movie Online – The French naval ship, Le Vengeur, based out of Marseille, has just docked in Brest for an extended stay. The ship’s captain, Lieutenant Seblon, can see the passion in his men, which can as easily manifest itself in violence as it can in sex. Seblon has in part become an officer to remain at arms length from his men, one of them, Querelle, with who he is secretly in love. Querelle goes to La Feria, a bar and makeshift whorehouse owned and operated by husband and wife Nono and Lysiane, one of the whores. La Feria is infamous and notorious as anyone wanting sex with Lysiane must first roll the dice with Nono, Nono winning meaning that he will get to sodomize the loser instead. At La Feria, Querelle is surprised to see his brother, Robert, who is Lysiane’s current on-going sexual partner, and who did not have to go through the roll of the dice with Nono is his special position with Lysiane. That passion in Querelle extends to his brother, the two who share more than just a family resemblance. Outwardly, Querelle goes to La Feria as a place to sell opium. However, the opium may only be a pretense as Querelle is trying to discover who he is as a man. Everyone in this collective is also on a similar sense of discovery, some who may be more aware and open about their own thoughts about the lines between sex, desire and love, those who are not as open possibly feeling shame which leads to ways to deal with that shame. Including those already mentioned, this collective includes a local stone mason named Gilles who purports to desire Paulette, a young man named Roger, Paulette’s brother, with who there is unspoken sexual tension with Gilles, and Mario who, at least in appearance, “polices” the activities at La Feria..
Plot: A handsome Belgian sailor on shore leave in the port of Brest, who is also a drug-smuggler and murderer, embarks upon a voyage of highly charged and violent homosexual self-discovery that will change him forever from the man he once was.

Fractal filthy fun
I saw this in the theater when it was first released and it remains my favorite Fassbinder film. I frequently find Fassbinder quite preachy, but with Querelle, he just lets the action unfold like a contagious disease infecting the viewer’s mind with its rapturous toxins. If the director had tried to turn Genet’s “novel” into a linear story, it would have been a disaster. Instead, it’s a bizarre mishmash of voice-over narration, written narration and strange, almost ritualized acting. And it’s far more erotically charged than any porn film. The visuals, particularly Brad Davis, are so superbly composed that nothing else really matters. Except, of course, Jeanne Moreau singing “Each Man Kills The Thing He Loves”. Fassbinder makes a compelling argument that sex and violence go together as well as cake and ice cream. If you don’t love perversion for its own sake, this won’t be the film for you.
Querelle: religion and ecstasy.
Well, i’ve been reading the comments about Fastbeenthere’s film, and i think the deep religious character and mood of this moving film it’s strangely overshadowed. So let’s state it clear: Querelle, a pact with the devil, is mostly concerned with religion – from Latin RELIGARE: rebind -, in times when the churches are some kind of agents of the Control Flux – and sorry for these Borroughsian vocabulary -. The quest Querelle undertakes, is the same quest that we found in the poems by San Juan of the Cruz, or in the desert exile of Simon Stilytes, or in Siddharta’s long journey… But in Querelle’s case there’s something more, something inhuman, because this angel-man is forced to develop an absolutely new series of values – Nietzsche -. All these themes are already in Genet works, and also, as an example, in Yikuo Mishima’s works: Descensus ad Inferos as a form to rich the realms of heaven. So this devil which Querelle approaches is nothing but an outcast god – and gods are only gods if they are outcasts -, the only possible god for the rejected, for those confined at the end of the world – let’s remember here the fight between Querelle and his brother, Robert, and we’ll see that the road where this fight occurs takes to nowhere, well, yes, it takes to a dying sun, to the vacuum, the void, the infinite falling -. Concerning the queerness of the film, i would say that this is something really complex: again, the sexual scene between Querelle and Nono has a sacramental mood, and ritual characteristics – as the assassination of the sailor by Querelle – which make of this scene something else: not only an exposition of human, maybe depraved, desires, but of a desire to reach the unreachable: god or devil, never mind. In this scene, Querelle is baptized, and Dodo, the black monster, plays the role of John the Baptist. All is rebound to religion, even the music, and the “nomansland’s” aspects of the xerography in this crazy and beautiful film.
