Synopsis

Watch: Angels in the Dust 2007 123movies, Full Movie Online – Marion Cloete, a university-trained therapist, along with her husband and two daughters, fearlessly walked away from a privileged life in a wealthy Johannesburg suburb to establish Boikarabelo (formerly Botshabelo), an extraordinary village and school that provide shelter, food, and education to more than 550 South African children..
Plot: ANGELS IN THE DUST is the story of a courageous, self-sacrificing, fiercely loving woman who chooses a spiritual path over a material one; it tells of the life-changing power of one compassionate heart. For a nation overwhelmed by an epidemic of HIV/AIDS, orphans, rape, violence, and Apartheids legacy of social and political unrest, the film offers a clear pathway of hope and a replicable paradigm for the future.

Fighting what appears to be a hopeless fight.
I decided to watch this film because I am visiting South Africa in the near future. So, to get myself into the mood, I’ve been seeking out carious films set in South Africa. “Angels in the Dust” is such a film–being filmed in the Johannesburg area just a few years ago.

The film is about a woman (Marion Cloete) and her apparently hopeless struggle to help the HIV-ridden local population. Ignorance is incredible–which would help explain a national HIV+ rate of about 20%–the highest rate in the entire world. For example, infected men believe that having sex with a virgin will cure you–so countless small children are raped and infected regularly. And, it doesn’t help any that the government health officials insists that a diet rich in olive oil and garlic can cure the virus as well! So, Marion spends time educating folks, taking care of the many orphans and trying her best to make a better life for her neighbors.

The film is utterly depressing from start to finish. While you really admire folks for trying, it’s such a huge battle it’s hard not to feel that it’s hopeless–which makes Cloete and her family all the more incredible. I strongly recommend the film, however, as ignorance about the world or indifference is wrong and people should be aware of the struggles of these people. What to do about it, however, that isn’t so very clear–at least until significant changes occur in the way of education and government denials. Thought-provoking and sad.

VERY touching, the story is to be seen through the eyes of some special South African children.
VERY touching, the disturbing story is to be seen and understood through the eyes of not 1 but more than 10 special South African children. Amazing, outstanding documentary. This one should win many prizes. Fact: A child’s story is more captive.

10 out of 10 for a touching and inspiring point of view.

If I understood the charts well, in South Africa alone, six million people, adults and children are infected by AIDS. Still the government does quite little to nothing about it.

Angels in the Dust is a story of hope and healing in the face of a crisis that makes you lose confidence. Although you can’t because nothing should make you feel it’s the end of the world, unless you let the situation master you. What matters is what you can do is finding out who or what you are.

AIDS is affecting thousands of children leaving them orphaned, with no adults to raise them. There is a world with lots of children with no parents who want to be rescued or helped. Marion Cloete does an outstanding job in revealing this crisis from the local Children’s hearts. There is a great storytelling about that special life of those children how they live. What I found so special about this docu is the reality of NON-fictional emotional face mimics and body language for the happy and the sad moments. There are a lot of documentaries out there about African poverty or violence for surviving but this one isn’t really about poverty. It’s about the healing by taking care of the children that are being “reparented” by Marion at Botshabelo. So this movie is to be concluded as a resolution in process to solve and after time will tell, to save and make a better future. There is also a glimpse of a resolution at the end.

This story goes along with a therapist, her husband and their three daughters. Like very few people in that area, they stand up consequentially and offer help by being there every day. An extraordinary village and school that provides shelter, food, and education to more than 550 South African children. The storytelling is absolutely compelling you to watch this interesting captioned situation.

Interesting comparison: “a dramatic parallel story to orphaned elephants of Pilanesberg National Park in South Africa”.

I felt that this film asked me what I can do about it. What the Western world can do about it except showing the sad captive images on screen and ask for some small donations. It made me think and maybe we all should start to think about a resolution before this problem outgrows us. This movie is actually about compassion, if you don’t have any, don’t watch.
