There’s bad, and then there’s BAD!
I thought this “horror” movie would never get going and I was right. It never did. It bopped along for about an hour and then decided to actually become a horror/ghost story. The last 15 min weren’t worth the wait. The ending was exactly what I thought it would be. I think I’ll watch Thirteen Ghosts again.

Interesting location and aura but horrible editing
This movie turns apocalyptic once our protagonists arrive at the abandoned resort. It becomes more interesting when you learn that the abandoned resort is indeed a real one in Maui called the Makena Beach and Golf Resort, which closed down in 2016 and was subsequently demolished in 2018. It’s like the apocalypse has entered our present times, through the overgrown bushes all over the building, the facilities in disarray, the desolation, yet it is all contained within this resort while the rest of the busy world continues on. The abandoned surroundings and the Hawaiian views make for a fascinating combination. But the positives about this movie stop there. The acting is amateur and the editing does not help to cover up the poor acting and laughable dialogue. You can tell that most of the budget was used at the end when there’s a semblance of special effects and a few bloody props.
